The AV-VB4 RE 4x4 GUARÁ is a Brazilian Light Armored Vehicle that is currently being tested in Haiti. It holds a crew of ten, and weighs 7.65 tonnes.
GUARÁ was developed from the chassis of the German vehicle off road, UNIMOG 4000, whose platform was the basis for designing it and meet some important requirements, such as the ability of high-speed roads (97km / h) and varied terrain, be transported by rotary-wing aircraft and fixed a radius of 600km, easy maintenance and good logistic dependence, low ground pressure and a great tactical mobility and still expected to receive additional armor, which also has a spacious interior and be part of a family with a weight of around 7.650kg.
The prototype presented has a mono-bloc body armor steel plates (imported from the United States), welded to repair rotary MAG 7.62 mm machine gun or the famous 12.7 mm (.50).

Its engine is a Mercedes Benz OM 904 LA 4, 177cv, turbo diesel, with 24Volts DC electrical system, disc brakes on all four wheels, with ABS / ALB, dual circuit hydraulic brake and engine two stages, with power steering hydraulically, with electronically controlled transmission.
His suspension is progressive coil springs with shock absorbers, stabilizer bars and chassis frame of flexible, high torsional flexibility, 11:00-20SDC wheels and 335/80R20 radial tires, ready for any terrain.
